This underpins our vision of being the preferred provider of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programmes, which complement the human resource and skills development needs of a competitive, developing nation.
In order to give the youth access to Pe TVET College, the government has made funds available in the form of bursaries to qualifying students that are in need of financial assistance and are able to demonstrate potential for academic success.
The Department of Education TVET College bursary scheme assists students or intending to enrol at TVET Colleges for National Certificate Vocational (NCV) programmes, but who are unable to fund their studies. Students may apply based on the Means test administered by the college. The college manages the bursary award process.

The online application date for 2023 academic year will be open from the 1st of September 2022 and will b e closing on 30th of September 2023.
Courses Offered At Port Elizabeth Tvet College
National Accredited Technical Education Diploma (Nated)
National Accredited Technical Education Diploma (NATED) programmes are delivered under the auspices of the Department of Higher Education and Training. The programmes consist of 18 months theoretical studies at colleges and 18 months relevant practical application in work places. Engineering studies range from N1-N6 while Business and Utility Studies range from N4-N6.
The ultimate goal of the Nated courses is to award the student studying the course an N6 Diploma.
Duration:
- 1 Year for N1 – N3 Engineering Studies
- 1 Year for N4 – N6 Engineering Studies
- 3 Years (18 months theoretical studies + 18 months workplace application) for
- N4 – N6 Business and Utility Studies
Qualification:
- N6 Diploma
Admission Requirements:
- Grade 9 for N1 admission
- Grade 12 for N4 admission
National Certificate Vocational
The Department of Education introduced the National Certificate Vocational (NCV) at Public Further Education and Training (FET) Colleges in 2007. The NCV offers programmes of study in a variety of vocational fields. The programmes are intended to directly respond to the priority skills demands of the South African Economy.
The National Certificate Vocational is offered at Levels 2, 3 and 4 of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). The qualification is designed to provide both theory and practical experience in a particular vocational field. The practical component of the study may be offered in the workplace environment. Students have an opportunity to experience work situations during the period of study.

PE College Occupational School offers a fast-track education that can quickly prepare you for employment in numerous occupational fields. Engineering Studies
Port Elizabeth College offers further study opportunities in the form of part-time courses to enhance qualifications and keep in touch with advancing technology and development. The versatility of these programmes range from skills courses with duration of 20 hours to long-term qualifications of up to two years.
